INSTRUCTION MANUAL
PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENCING INSTALLATION AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE
REFERENCE
•
The unit must be earthed.
•
We recommend the use of a qualified electrician for all electrical installations.
•
Installation must comply with current IEE Wiring Regulations and UK Building Regulations.
•
Run supply wire from a 5-amp electrical supply using double insulated 3-core cable of type H05RN-
F 1.0mm2 (not supplied).

Switch off mains electrical supply before installation

Run cable (not supplied) from mains electrical supply to selected site, ensuring it is adequately
protected through the full length of the cable run.
Except where installed in a conduit or duct which provides equivalent protection against
mechanical damage, a cable buried in the ground shall incorporate an earthed armour or metal
sheath or both, suitable for use as a protective conductor, or be of insulated concentric
construction. Buried cables shall be marked by cable covers or a suitable marking tape. Buried
conduits and ducts shall be suitably identified. Buried cables, conduits and ducts shall be at a
sufficient depth to avoid being damaged by any reasonably foreseeable disturbance of the
ground.

Strip outer sheath from the end of supply cable from unit for a length of approximately 20mm and
separate brown, blue and green yellow wires and bare the ends for a length of approximately
5mm.

If fitted, remove decorative front cover (

).

Remove screw caps from outside of back plate and remove back plate from mounting plate.
(6)
Using the plastic mounting plate as a template, mark position of fixing holes.
(7)
Drill holes and fit suitable fixing plugs.
(8)
Pass the supply cable through the rubber grommet in the mounting plate.
(9)
Connect the mains supply cable to the connector block as follows:
Incoming
Earth (Green/yellow wire) to terminal screw connector marked
Incoming Live (Brown or Red wire) to terminal block connector marked “L”.
Incoming Neutral (Blue or Black wire) to terminal block connector marked “N”.

Ensure that the hexagon headed nuts are positioned securely at the rear of the back plate, and
secure the back plate to the wall with suitable screws, ensuring that no wires are trapped or
damaged.

Re- fit back plate to mounting plate, ensuring any seal is in place, and secure with screw caps.
(12)
Fit lamp bulb of type and wattage recommended on the lamp holder. Do not exceed maximum
wattage indicated.
(13)
Re-fit decorative front cover.
Replacement Lamps
Should a lamp need to be replaced the user
Must
ensure that the replacements is a 240v 25W G9.
Replacement lamps may be obtained from the stockist where you purchased this article.
Switch on lantern and ensure it operates correctly.
Clean only with damp cloth or soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners
