If the system is operating beyond Wi-Fi range in Autonomous Waypoint mode, it will execute automatic
return to home. If possible, you should abort the return to home and fly the drone home yourself. You
can double-toggle the flight mode switch to use Pilot Assist mode for the remainder of the flight.
The system will be reset after the scan is stopped and restarted for the next mission.
4.6.1.7 LiDAR Error failsafe
This LiDAR Error failsafe is triggered when the system detects a possible LiDAR hardware failure. When
the failsafe is triggered, the system will show a critical (red)
Lidar Dropout alert in the Hovermap status
indicator. You will also hear an audio alert tone.
If Hovermap detects a LiDAR error that impacts the system’s ability to fly safely, the navigation method
will revert to the selected secondary method. In outdoors flights, with GPS set as the secondary
navigation method, this will result in a stable, GPS-assisted hover. With HVM INS set as the secondary
navigation method, the system will be placed in an emergency hover. In this case, you will have reduced
control authority. You should maintain vigilance and correct any drift.
The system will take action to recover the LiDAR. If this is successful, control authority will return to
normal.
After a LiDAR Error failsafe has been triggered, a SLAM Unreliable failsafe warning will show in the
Hovermap status indicator for the remainder of the mission. The mission should be aborted.

Warning
If the secondary navigation method is set to HVM INS, you will have reduced
control authority when the LiDAR Error failsafe is triggered. In this state, the drone
may drift due to airflow or other external factors. You should maintain vigilance
and control the drift to maintain the safety of the drone.

