4.4.2
Front-Blade Port Mapping
The eight SFP+ sites are connected through phys to the front blade base and fabric switches
according to the following table.

BCM8747 Configuration Flash
The BCM8747 requires an external SPI Flash to store microcode for the internal
microcontroller. A single SPI Flash is connected to the FPGA and the SPI buses from each
BCM8747 are similarly connected to the FPGA. Register settings in the FPGA allow either
BCM8747 to connect to the SPI Flash as well as providing a programming port.
4.4.4
Transmitter Control
The TXONOFF signals on each BCM8747 are connected together to the RTM FPGA whichallows
them to be driven under software control. This enables software to enable and disable the SFP+
optical outputs.
