Configuring control strategies to obtain correct
process values
1.
The parameter “Tag Name” is read correctly by DeltaV. No additional configuration is required with
regard to the value; it can be used directly from its Dataset.
2.
For the first 11 parameters (Avg. Distance, Min Distance, Max Distance, Volume, 4-20mA, SNR,
Temperature °C, Temperature °F, Avg. Level, Bulk Density, and Mass), the byte order must be
swapped and converted from binary to floating point. A control strategy with the configuration
shown below is used.

In the control strategy, set up the following parameters in the function blocks and variables (see
