In addition to the severity of the alarm displayed on the front of the unit, the

local GUI allows the user to see some details on the alarm conditions on the

LCD screen on the front panel of the unit (refer to section 5.5.5 in Chapter 5).

If more detailed information is required, accessing the remote GUI with a

computer is the next option (refer to section 5.6 in Chapter 5).

7.3. System Manager CIP Software upgrade

The following software upgrade procedure is used to upload a new software

version into a System Manager CIP.

Note:

The Admin password must be “admin” and the passwords must be

disabled for this procedure to be performed.

Procedure 7.1 – Upgrading the software of a System Manager CIP

Step Action

Get the new software version from Emerson’s Web site or Technical
Service Assistance Department (refer to 2

nd

page before last of the

present manual for phone number). This consists of a zipped file named
“System Manager IP software upgrade”. Install this file on the desktop of
your computer.

Access the password-setting screen of the System Manager CIP and
disable the passwords as shown in the following screen.

3

While still in the password setting screen of the System Manager CIP,
ensure that the Admin password is “admin as shown in the following
screen.
