5.1.3 To remove the fan safety grid
WARNING

Always de-energize the unit
bef ore removing the condenser f an grid. Never start the unit or run the f an with
no saf ety grid on the fan.

The grid can be removed only when the unit is turned off.
▪
To remove the grid, unscrew the six screws securing the grid and lift it off.

5.1.4 To access the inner parts of the condenser

The side panel can be removed only when the unit is turned off.
▪
To remove the side panel, unscrew the three screws located below the condenser f irst, then
unscrew all the remaining screws and remove the cover by lifting it off.

5.2 Replacing a compressor
CAUTION
Inadequate lubrication! Bearing destruction!
Exchange the accumulator
af ter replacing a compressor with a burned-out motor. The accumulator oil
return orif ice or screen may be plugged with debris or may become plugged.
This will result in starvation of oil to the new compressor and a second failure.
In the case of a motor burnout, most contaminated oil will be removed with the compressor. The rest
of the oil is cleaned using suction and liquid line filter driers. A 100 % activated alumina suction line
f ilter drier is recommended but must be removed af ter 72 hours.
It is highly recommended to
replace the suction accumulator, if the system contains one.
This is because the accumulator
oil return orif ice or screen may be plugged with debris or may become plugged shortly af ter a
compressor f ailure. This will result in starvation of oil to the replacement compressor and a second
f ailure. When a compressor is exchanged in the field, it is possible that a major portion of the oil may
