Replacing the switch in an InfiniFlex cabinet
Replacing the switch in an InfiniFlex cabinet
Below is a summary of the steps you will take to replace a switch in
an InfiniFlex cabinet:
1. Shut down the failed switch.
2. Remove the failed switch and the AC power cord.
3. Attach the rails to the replacement switch.
4. Install the replacement switch.
Removing the failed switch
You must shut down and remove the failed switch before you can
install the replacement.
Shut down the switch
1. Shut down power to the switch.
2. Disconnect the AC power cord from the switch and from the
power distribution unit (PDU) at the rear of the system.
3. Remove the LAN cables attached to the rear of the switch. It is
important to label them for reinstallation later.
Label each pair of cables (left to right) to correspond with the
servers to which they are attached (S0 to S5).
Remove the failed switch
1. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, loosen the two captive screws
located on the front of the rails (
