ED-64M Director Operating Features
Embedded Web Server
Using a browser-capable PC with an Internet connection to the
ED-64M, you can monitor and manage the director through the Web
Server interface embedded in the director firmware. The interface
provides a GUI similar to the Product Manager application, and
supports switch configuration, statistics monitoring, and basic
operation.
To launch the Web Server interface, enter the director’s IP address as
the URL into any standard browser. (The director’s IP address
appears under the switch icon on the Connectrix Manager Products
view when Network Address is selected as the display option.) Enter
a user name and password at a the login screen. The browser then
becomes a management console.
The default user name for the right to view status and other
information is operator. The default user name for the right to modify
configuration data, perform m aintenance tasks, or perform other
options is Administrator. The default password for both user names
is password.
Refer to Appendix D for detailed information on configuring Web
Server passwords.
The Embedded Web Server is not intended to be the primary means of
management for ED-64Ms. It is recommended that the Web Server be
disabled (using Connectrix Manager). This is specially important if the
ED-64M is configured to reside on a public LAN.
