Servicing a CX700 SPE
2. Align the power supply with the enclosure slot and gently push it
all the way into the slot. Ensure that the power supply handle is
aligned with the outer wall of the chassis.
3. Turn the latch clockwise to secure the supply into the chassis.
The latch holds the module in an established position. It does not pull or
otherwise help to seat the power supply.
Attaching the Line Cord and Powering On
1. Plug the ac/dc line cord into the new power supply.
2. Return any retention bail to its original position, and push the
cord into the loop to hold it in place.
3. Verify that the ac line cord is plugged into the appropriate (A or
B) SPS, and that SPS power is on.
4. If present, set the power supply’s switch to the on (
l
) position.
Replacing a Storage Processor (SP)
CAUTION
!
Handle a storage processor gently and use an ESD wristband. Do
not remove a faulty storage processor until you have a replacement
available. You can remove a storage processor while the CX700 is
powered up.
Removing a Storage Processor
1. Disconnect all Fibre Channel, SPS, and Ethernet cables from the
storage processor. Take care to
gently
press the connector latches
to release them before you remove the cables.
Mark or label each cable to ensure that you correctly connect the
replacement storage processor.
