Wrist brace with thumb support 

Indications

• 

Sprain or distortion of the wrist and/or thumb 

• 

Postoperative fixation of the wrist and thumb 

• 

Lesion of the ulnar collateral ligament of the basal joint 
of the thumb

• 

Tendinitis and tendinopathy of the wrist and thumb 

• 

Inflammatory phases of rheumatic diseases 

Contraindications

• 

Unstable fractures in the area of the hand. 

Mode of action

Fixation and stabilisation of the wrist, the thumb saddle 
and the basal joint of the thumb. 

Note on wear 

Treatment can only be successful if the Manumed T 
is worn consistently.

Instructions for putting on the brace 

Instruction from trained personnel is required when 
the brace is put on for the first time.

• 

The premoulded aluminium splints can be taken out 
and easily moulded to different hand contours (Fig. 1). 

• 

Open all belts and slip your hand into the brace 
(the aluminium splint is at the bottom - Fig. 2). 

• 

Close the front traction belt and then the back traction 
belt (Fig. 3). 

• 

Then close the broad middle traction belt. 
This belt is attached by Velcro pads to the lower side of 
the brace and can be shifted before closing if necessary 
(Fig. 4). 

• 

Pull the thumb belt round the thumb (Fig. 5).

Care instructions 

Hand wash in cool, soapy water.  Rinse thoroughly. Do not 
wring. Leave to dry naturally. Do not iron. Soap residues 
can cause skin irritation and material wear. The product 
can be worn in both fresh and salt water. After wearing in 
water, rinse the product thoroughly with clean fresh water. 
Leave to dry naturally. Do not remove stains using benzene 
or chemical detergents.

    

Storage instructions

Keep the product in a cool, dry place and do not expose 
to direct sunlight.
