Refresh mode (fig. A)
The refresh mode helps to maintain the
optimum capacity of the battery pack.
It is therefore recommended to use the
refresh mode weekly or every
10 charge/discharge cycles.
Please make sure to use the feature
whenever you notice decreased
battery pack performance.
• Start the charging process as described above.
• Press the refresh mode button (12). The red
charging indicator will stop blinking momentarily,
quickly blink three times and then resume blinking
as before. The charger is now in refresh mode.
• After up to 8 hours, the red charging indicator will
stop blinking and remain on. The battery pack is
now fully charged and can be removed at any
time or left in the connected charger indefinitely.
• To cancel refresh mode, you can remove and re-
insert the battery pack at any time.
Inserting and removing the battery pack
• Insert the battery pack into the corresponding
slot in the tool until it clicks in place.
• To remove the battery pack, press the release
button (8).
Inserting and removing bits (fig. A & B)
• Open the chuck by turning the sleeve (6)
counterclockwise and insert the bit shank.
• Place the bit in the chuck as far as it will go and
lift slightly before tightening.
• Press the spindle lock (13) and tighten firmly by
turning the sleeve clockwise.
• To remove the bit, proceed in reverse order.
Selecting the operating mode (fig. C)
The tool can be used in two operating modes:
Rotary drilling:
for steel, wood and plastics
Percussion drilling:
simultaneous rotating and impacting for
concrete and masonry drilling
operations.
• Select the required operating mode by rotating
the mode selector (4) towards the appropriate
symbol.
Forward/reverse slider (fig. A)
• To select forward or reverse rotation, use the
forward/reverse slider (2) (see arrows on tool).
Always wait until the motor has come to
a complete standstill before changing the
direction of rotation.
Two gear selector (fig. A)
Your tool is fitted with a two gear selector (3) to vary
the speed/torque ratio.
1
low speed/high torque
(drilling large holes, driving screws)
2
high speed/low torque
(drilling smaller holes)
For speed rates, refer to the technical data.
• Always push the two gear selector
completely forward or backward.
• Do not change gears at full speed or
during use.
Removing and fitting the chuck (fig. D & E)
• Open the chuck jaws as far as possible.
• Insert a screwdriver into the chuck and remove
the chuck retaining screw (14) by turning
clockwise as shown in figure D.
• Tighten an Allen key into the chuck and strike it with
a hammer as shown in figure E. This will loosen the
chuck so that it can be unscrewed by hand.
• To refit the chuck, proceed in reverse order.
Fitting the side handle (fig. A)
The side handle (5) can be fitted to suit both RH-
and LH-users.
Always use the tool with the side handle
properly assembled.
• Loosen the side handle.
• For RH-users, slide the side handle clamp over the
43 mm collar behind the chuck, handle at the left.
• For LH-users, slide the side handle clamp over the
43 mm collar behind the chuck, handle at the right.
