Should you be using a VPN, first enter an arbitrary name for your VPN in the field "
GPRS Provider
" (e.g.,
"Elster-VPN"); then on the right press the button "
Extended"
when the following dialog box opens for the
input of the access data to the GPRS network (APN-Data):
First the name of the VPN that you have allocated yourself will appear. Complete the remaining, initially
empty fields with the access data for your VPN which you will obtain from your VPN administrator or from
the GPRS network provider. Use the
OK
key so that the data input is accepted and the window is closed.
Now, in the dialog box "
Settings for the application GPRS-
TSC‘
" (see above) the button
"Set values"
can
be used to initiate the transfer of the values to the modem.
Transfer of these values to the ComTSC modem takes approx. 2 to 2.5
minutes. The completion of complete parameter transmission is indicated
with the message "
Parameterization OK
".
If configuration was executed via the local modem configuration interface,
then the USB parameterization cable must also be disconnected from the
EK280 after the connection is terminated.

7.1.5.5 Retrieving data with enSuite

The test time window only needs to be open if none of the time windows 1 to 4 are open.
If the communication link to the EK280 via the optical interface is not set up, it must be created. (see
chapter 3.1 "Setting up the communication link to the EK280 via optical interface", page 15)
Select "
Navigation
" on the left-hand side of the enSuite window and then "
Parameterize online
" at
the bottom of the navigation window.
In the top of the device window open the path "
Parameters
" > "
Interfaces
" by clicking on the relevant
plus signs, and then select "
internal modem
" (not the plus sign before).
Click on the "
0
" value next to "
Test call acceptance window
" in the right-hand side of the window and
enter a duration in minutes (i.e. 10), for the test time window for the test retrieval to remain open. For
a battery-powered EK280 please do not enter an excessively long duration, as this will adversely
affect the battery life.
