6.0 FUNCTIONS WITH IR REMOTE CONTROL 

 
The unit is equipped with a receiver for an infra-red remote control that must be ordered 
separately (code IRTZM1612) 
 

WARNING 

The remote control is of the self-learning type. After inserting the batteries and each 

time these are changed, press the "Set" key for a few seconds 

 

WARNING 

IR remote control reception is enabled and disabled  

holding down the MODE button at power-on 

 

The unit is shipped with reception from IR remote control enabled. 

 

The following functions are performed with the IR remote control: 
 
1) Setting of switching operating mode: 
 
V, A, A+V, LOOK    (Same as for built-in keypad) 
 
2) Switching: 
 
IN       followed by Key 1÷16    Selection of an input  

  

OUT   followed by Key 1÷12    Selection of an output     
 
3) Save the preset (machine states):                  
 
SAVE followed by Key 1÷8    

             Preset command 

 
4) Recall (machine states): 
 
RECALL followed by Key 1÷8 

             Recall of preset 

 

WARNING 

Remember that switching operations invoked by a   

RECALL command are not performed "through blank" 

 

 

7.0 COMPUTER CONTROL via RS232

, Elpro has made available software running under 

Windows suitable for controlling the TZM1612 via RS232 or RS485.  
 
If the user intends to develop personalized software, the protocols to be implemented both 
for RS232 and RS485 are available on the same site. 
 
All functions of the TZM1612 can be controlled through transmission/reception by a 
computer of strings of hexadecimal and ASCII characters. 
 
The procedure for data exchange via RS232 is as follows: 
 

Transmission standard: 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit and speed of 9600 baud. 
 
 

7.1 PHYSICAL CONNECTION 

 

Physical connection must be afforded using a cable according to the diagram below:
