2.4.5 External safety interface
The external safety interface X13 is the safety signal connection port between the robot and
the peripheral devices, and the port is defined in the following table.

External Emergency Stop
Emergency stop switches are installed on the teach pendant, the control cabinet or peripheral
devices. The function of an E-stop switch is to terminate the robot operation immediately by
cutting off the drive output. Turn the switch clockwise to release the E-stop status.
The emergency stop is designed to eliminate the operation risk of any kind through cutting
off the power supply. It takes precedence over any other robot operations and will remain effective
until it is reset manually. The emergency stop state means that all power supplies other than the
manual brake release circuit are disconnected from the robot. You must perform the restore steps,
i.e. reset the emergency stop button and clear the alarm to restore normal operation. The following
effects can be achieved through system configuration.
•E-stop type 0: Stop the current operation immediately through cutting off the motor power.
•E-stop type 1: Stop the current operation without cutting off the motor power so that the
robot can maintain its current path.
E-stop type 0 is the default setting of the system. However, it is strongly recommended that
users should choose E-stop type 1 in order to avoid unnecessary machine wear and the extra
operations required for system recovery.
