Performing Backup and Restore

If you selected USB, make sure to connect the USB storage device to one of the USB 3.0 ports on the E-46A.
Note:
If the capacity of the USB storage device is less than size of the value listed in
Estimated size
: field, the backup
process will not take place.

To restore the backup image

Access Fiery System Restore (see

Restore
.
If you have not logged in as an Administrator user, you are required to do so. Enter the administrator’s password
and click
Log In
.

Make sure that your backup image is accessible from the E-46A.
If you want restore the backup image stored on the USB storage device, be sure to attach the USB storage device to
one of the USB 3.0 ports on the E-46A.

Select one of the following restore options:
•
Restore from a local image
•
Restore from a USB storage device
•
Restore from the factory default image

Follow the on-screen prompts to restore the backup image.
Note:
The E-46A must remain powered ON during the backup or restore process.
To restore the system by booting from a bootable USB storage device

Using Fiery System Installer
You can create the system backup or restore from the backup using Fiery System Installer provided with the System
Software DVD 1.
You can perform the following tasks from Fiery System Installer;
•
New Installation:
Installs the system software from the media shipped with the E-46A. Use this option only when
the system backup is not available. See also
It is recommended that you create system backups periodically.
