1.1 Definition of Warnings and Cautions
Important safety information is highlighted as WARNING and CAUTION instructions. The
safety instructions must be obeyed.
The use of WARNINGs and CAUTIONs is as follows:
WARNING:
Warnings are given where failure to observe the instruction could result in minor
injury or death to people. The actual symbol shown varies according to the hazard.
CAUTION:
Cautions are given where failure to observe the instruction could result in minor
injury or damage to the equipment, associated equipment or process.
1.2 Safety symbols
The safety symbols on the products shows the areas where care and attention is
necessary.
The safety symbols that follow are used on the product or in the product
documentation.
Warning/Caution
An appropriate safety instruction must be followed or caution to a
potential hazard exists.
Warning - Heavy object
Indicates the potential hazard arising from a heavy object.
Warning - Dangerous voltage
Indicates hazards arising from dangerous voltages.
Warning - Hot surfaces
Indicates that the marked item may be hot and should not be touched
without taking precautions.
Warning - Protective earth (ground)
Indicates that the equipment must be grounded.
Warning - Use protective equipment
Indicates that appropriate protective equipment must be used.
