The
Cat.5 Console Port
permits you to perform your administrative
functions up to 500 feet away from your Dual Console KVM Switch.
Once installed, you may literally control all the Servers from you desk
rather at the “Server room.” It used to be that supervisory duties must
be performed at the local console. Now you can do it at the Local
Console or at the Cat.5 Remote Console. This innovation increase the
the flexibility of installation design and eases the daily usage of the
Dual Console KVM Switch. Once you have used it, you will realize
how much easier it is now to perform your all Server administrative and
supervisory tasks.
The advanced technology is in the
Cat.5 transmitter and Receiver.
The Cat.5 Transmitter
is built-in to the Dual Console KVM switch. It
combines the PS2 keyboard and mouse signal and the VGA monitor
signal for transmission over long distance using the popular Ethernet
Cat.5 cable. The
Cat.5 Remote Console Receiver
de-multiplexes the
signal back to the PS2 keyboard and mouse signal and the VGA
monitor signal.
The Cat.5 Remote Console
Capability is a good solution where the
server room environment may be noisy or where it is unsuitable for
people to work for a long time. It facilitates effective management of
distributed computers at one dedicated central control room,
demonstration room, meeting room or even at your desk.
Cat.5 STP cable (Shielded Twisted Pair) / UTP cable (Unshielded
Twisted Pair) or enhanced cable like Cat.5E / Cat.6 cables are
common to LAN in the corporate environment. The Dual Console
KVM-Cat.5 Console Port uses the same existing network cabling so
that ease of installation is enhanced. No special cabling is required; It
just use the common everyday 10/100 BaseT Cat.5 cabling already
installed throughout all corporations large and small.
