CONNECTIONS AND FORMATS
The 6205s2 system relies on specific data formats and connections to produce high-quality images and
measurements. This section describes these data formats and connections and provides diagrams to
better understand the system's hardware and data flow.
4.1
Data Formats
CAUTION!
When the 6205s2 includes the OEM Integrated RTK GNSS
aided INS unit, there is no need to use the RS-232 or LAN ports to
receive data from peripheral GNSS/Heading/Motion sensors.
Data from 3
rd
party peripheral sensor(s) are required to support correctly output geo-referenced
soundings and side scan sonar data surveys. At a minimum, the following peripheral data is needed:
a.
TimeSync and 1PPS, Position, true north Heading, Motion (heave/roll/pitch).
b.
GNSS Position in NMEA or supported 3
rd
party format, latitude and longitude, and height;
minimum of 5Hz
c.
Heading data in NMEA format or supported 3
rd
party format; minimum of 20Hz
d.
Attitude or roll/pitch/heave data in or supported 3
rd
party format; minimum of 50Hz
e.
Time sync data in NMEA or supported 3
rd
party format; minimum of 1Hz
f.
1PPS TTL, typically from the GNSS receiver
Data may be supplied by 1, 2, or 3 individual sources (sensors) and are listed below in order of priority.
a.
Position Data
– this may be supplied via any (one) of the following type sentences/messages:
i.
$xxGGA NMEA
ii.
$xxGLL NMEA
iii.
$xxRMC NMEA
$xxGGK ** (Applanix PosMV format)
** = Non-NMEA standard sentences
iv.
$PTNL, GGK, … ** (Trimble format, non standard NMEA)
v.

party proprietary messages, at 50Hz, like Applanix POS-MV grp 102 or SBG EKF or iXBLUE

True North Heading Data
– this may be supplied via:
