WARNING!
Always rinse the metering head to remove dangerous media and
depressurise the pressure circuit before repair and servicing work.
Wear protective clothing (safety goggles, safety gloves and apron).
9.1
Compact metering device (EMP Compact II)
Regular maintenance must be conducted in order to ensure that it functions properly.
The maintenance includes parts of the pump, as well as the metering valve.
9.2
EMP II E60 diaphragm metering pump
The normal maintenance interval is every six months, but shorter intervals
may be required if parts are subjected to heavy stresses (e.g. continuous
operation).
The following inspections are recommended:
n
suction pipes and pressure pipes for leak-free connections;
n
suction valve and pressure valve for dirt and tightness;
Chapter 9.2.1 ‘Replacing the suction / pressure valve and metering cartridges’
n
that the discharge on the pump head is OK (diaphragm break)
Chapter 9.2.4 ‘Replacing the pump head and diaphragm’ on page 47
n
correct metering;
n
that the metering head screws are tight, 3 - 4 Nm
Chapter 9.2.4 ‘Replacing the pump head and diaphragm’ on page 47
The service life of the diaphragm depends on the following:
–
back pressure
–
operating temperature
–
and metering medium
We recommend that you check the diaphragm more frequently in extreme
operating conditions and if metering abrasive substances.
