Diagram of the example system
Control behaviour of the example system
The parametrised operating frequency range here is 35 Hz - 67 Hz, the parametrised capacity overlap is 10%.
Using the capacity overlap parameter, it is possible to specify in percent (100% is equivalent to the capacity of
a completely loaded compressor at 50 Hz) how much lower the capacity is following the loading of a
compressor stage compared with before loading. This parameter is designed to ensure that the same pack
output can be set following the loading of a compressor as before, and thus avoid clocking.
Parametrisation and connection of the system
Connection: first, it must be noted that the single-stage FC compressor is activated via the compressor relay
stage 1 (terminals 13/14) of the pack controller. Although the FC compressor is operated as single-stage
compressor, one or two additional capacity stages must be reserved for it depending on the number of selected
capacity stages in the circuit (parameter
Nr comp multist
menu 3-1), exactly as in the case of the following
fixed-speed compressors:
If the number of selected capacity stages in the circuit is equal to two, the second relay stage (terminals
23/24) is assigned to the FC compressor.
If the number of selected capacity stages in the circuit is equal to three, the second and third relay stages
(terminals 23/24 and terminals 33/34) are assigned to the FC compressor.
These capacity stages that are assigned to the FC compressor are disabled together with the corresponding
parameters (menu 3-1) for the operation with a single-stage FC compressor using the manual control
switch(es). Nothing is connected to the corresponding relay stages. In this way, the controller recognises that
the FC compressor is single-stage and adjusts the control action accordingly.
The capacity-controlled fixed-speed compressors are connected to the compressor relay stages (see above
diagram of the example system).
Parameters:
The following settings must be made in the System Configuration menu (menu 3-1) for the
example configuration described above:
No. comps.
= 4 Number of compressors in the pack
No.cap.stages
= 2 Number of capacity stages per compressor in the pack
In the submenu
Enable comp.stages
the capacity stages assigned to the FC compressor must be disabled
using the parameters
Comp. 2
(two-stage compressor) or

and

3
(three-stage compressor).
Under the menu item Compressor Control (menu 3
