2. Putting It All Together
This section describes the basic connections you need to operate the HDT-
610R. Its rear panel has connections for audio and video equipment as well as
a digital terrestrial aerial input.
You must connect your TV via the HDMI input. You can choose whether to
play audio through the HDMI cable or through the digital audio output.
Digital Terrestrial Inputs
The HDT-610R is designed to use a single digital terrestrial aerial input.
Your TV aerial should be suitable for the reception of digital terrestrial signals.
Connecting to the Internet
The HDT-610R is designed to work with a wired Ethernet connection. If your
router is not in the same room as your HDT-610R, you can use a pair of
‘Power-line’ devices (which use the home electrical wiring to carry the Ethernet
signal).
Before connecting an Ethernet cable to the HDT-610R, unplug the HDT-610R
from the mains. With the connection to your network in place, reconnect your
HDT-610R to the mains. It may take the HDT-610R a few minutes to start up
after connecting to the router for the first time.
To check your internet connection, see page 41.
