Ink and Solvent Bottle Monitoring System
General Information
Every bottle of ink or solvent is equipped
with a transponder (an electronic circuit where
bottle identification data are stored and can be
accessed with no need for wire contact or
additional power supply). The information is
scanned from the transponder with a built-in

ystem (the abbreviation

shall
be used hereinafter) that uses two aerials
situated at the bottom of the bottle chamber.

The

ystem ensures that:
1)
The bottle is identified explicitly.
2)
The printer is checked for appropriate ink (solvent). It prevents the application by
mistake of ink (solvent) that is different from that originally used in the printer’s ink
system. The type of consumable and service life are checked.
3)
Ink and solvent distribution and monitoring are improved as the information is
coded and validated electronically in every transponder.
Each bottle can be only used in the printer for which it was accepted by
IMS
.
Approved bottles cannot be moved to other printers and other bottles cannot be
replenished with fluid from an approved bottle. The approved bottle should remain in
the printer until the fluid is consumed.
