Output Protection
The ferroresonant transformer inherently limits current and provides overload protection. The
Eaton Ferrups FX UPS has high AC and low AC output voltage alarms, as well as an overload
alarm. If the AC output voltage falls below the low AC output voltage alarm setpoint, the UPS
sounds an alarm after 5 seconds. If the AC output voltage falls below the low AC output
shutdown setpoint, the UPS sounds an alarm and shuts down. Some models have output
receptacles protected by fuses or circuit breakers.
