2.7.1 Connecting the
NET network
easyNet is a network to which a maximum of 8 stations can be connected.
Any device with a network connection can be an easyNet station.
EASY802-DC-SWD is therefore excluded.
The easyNet has a linear topology. Two types of cable routing are possible:

Passing through.
•
T connector and spur line.
Passing through
With this wiring arrangement, easyNet is looped through the device.
Advantage: The easyNet stations can be addressed and easyNet configured
very simply via station 1 (
section 3.10.1, “Parameterizing NET stations”,
page 91) or via easySoft-Pro.
Disadvantage: If the line is interrupted, the easyNet network is no longer
operational due to the missing bus termination.
T connector and spur line.
Advantage: If an easyNet station fails, the spur line can be removed from the
station for the exchange, whilst all other devices on the easyNet remain
functional.
Each device must be addressed individually with this wiring method. This can
be done as follows:
•
By downloading the program including the NET-ID via easySoft-Pro (see
Online Help). For this the programming cable must be plugged in locally
on each individual device.
•
Via the function key and display of the individual device
(
section 3.10.1, “Parameterizing NET stations”, page 91).
When using the EASY223-SWIRE gateway, you cannot use any spur lines as
the device cannot be addressed individually due to the lack of a serial
interface.

The spur line between the T connector and the device must not
exceed 0.3 m. Otherwise communication via easyNET may be
impaired.
