AIR FILTER
Maintaining an air filter cleaner in proper condition is very im-
portant. Dirt induced through improperly installed, improperly
serviced or inadequate filters damages and wears out engines.
Keep the filter clean.
Cleaning / Replacing Air Filter:
1. Remove the side panel on the starter handle side of the gen-
erator by loosening the four screws holding it in place.
SEE FIGURE 8
2. Remove the air filter cover by loosening the one screw hold-
ing it in place and then remove the air filter.
3. Replace with a new oiled filter, or wash the current filter with
warm water and mild soap. Remember to thoroughly oil the
foam filter with 30 or 40 weight motor oil and squeeze out
any excess oil before reinstalling it.
NOTE: Make sure to press the filter evenly into place to en-
sure that the foam is fully seated into its sealed position.
4. Reconnect the air filter cover and secure it with the screw.
5. Reconnect the side panel, securing with the four screws.

wire brush. If damaged, replace.
