Thank you for ordering your 8X12 E-Z Frame Standard Structure.
Included in your order are E-Z Frame brackets making it unnecessary to make any angle cuts what so ever
and assembly instructions and diagram. You will just need to purchase your lumber, fasteners and covering
material locally based on intended use of your structure. Visit our website for great ideas!
The location of each bracket is shown and labeled in the diagram. The location of each piece of lumber is
also shown and labeled with a letter that corresponds with the letters below on the E-Z Frame lumber
supply list. 2X2X8' lumber can be purchased at any lumber yard in either pine or redwood.
You will need to purchase 54 pieces of 2X2X8' lumber (1-1/2 X 1-1/2 X 8' actual dimension) in either pine
or redwood to complete your structure. The following are the cut sizes needed to frame the structure. All
cuts are straight cuts, NO ANGLE CUTS. Typically cuts are easiest made using a standard radial arm saw
(chop
saw).
You will also need to purchase a box of fasteners – either nails not longer than 1 inch or a box
drywall screws. Screws typically work easier than nails. You will also need metal pipe strapping for a
diagonal cross bracing. You will also need to purchase enough cover material to cover the surface sq ft of
building. You can cover using any material depending on the intended use. Below is a list of the lumber
sizes you will need to build your E-Z Frame structure:
List of cut lumber sizes:
A =4' – 3 ¾"
B = 6' – 3"
C = 5' – 9"
D = 7' – 8"
E = 2' – 2"
G = 2' – 6"
H = 5' – 7"
K= 6' – 1"
M = 5' – 0"
N = 7' – 0"
Out of a 8' length of lumber you will need to cut:
(14ea) at 5' – 9"
(7 ea) at 6' – 3"
(2 ea) at 7' – 8"
(2 ea) at 5' – 7"
(5 ea) at 6' – 1"
(5 ea) at 5' – 0"
(5 ea) at 7' – 0"
(14 ea) at 4' – 3 ¾" ….. From of the remaining sections of lumber after making this cut make the
following size cuts:
(4 ea) at 2' – 2"
(3 ea) at 2' – 6"
(8 ea) cut to fit for angled corner bracing
Assemble as shown on diagram with screws or nails and cover with desired cover material.
Please note: Make sure to place the brackets facing as shown in the plans and picture of the assembled
model. Failure to do this; may result in some pieces of lumber not fitting correctly.
