CHASSIS

Before adjusting the front brake, the front
brake linings should be checked. 

Proper lever free play is essential to avoid
excessive brake drag. 

1. Measure: 

• front brake lever free play 

Out of specification

 Adjust.

2. Adjust: 

• front brake lever free play

Front brake lever free play 

4 ~ 6 mm (0.16 ~ 0.24 in)

a. Loosen the locknuts

b. Turn the adjusters 

 in or out until the

specified front brake lever free play is
obtained.

Make sure that the difference between clear-
ances 

 and 

 is less than 2 mm when the

front brake lever is squeezed.
