Connecting a basic home theater system
To connect a basic home theater system using digital
audio:
1
Make sure that your TV’s power cord is unplugged
and the home system is turned off.
2
Connect a digital coaxial audio cable (not provided)
to the
DIGITAL OUT
jack on the side of your TV and
to the
DIGITAL AUDIO IN
jack on the home theater
system.
Connecting a home theater system with
multiple devices
The connections you make depend on the video and
audio jacks available on your devices. Refer to the
documentation that came with your devices for
connection information.
Remember to use the best connection types available for
the best picture and sound. For information about
connection types, see “see "What connection should I
use?" on page 7.
Using the remote control
Installing remote control batteries
To install the remote control batteries:
1
While pressing the cover release latch on the back of
the remote control, lift the cover off the remote
control.
2
Insert two AAA batteries into the battery
compartment. Make sure that you match the + and –
symbols on the batteries with the + and – symbols in
the battery compartment.
3
Replace the battery cover.
Aiming the remote control
To aim the remote control:
• Point the remote control towards the remote sensor
on the front of your TV.
Notes
When connecting an AV receiver with the ARC
function, we recommend that you connect the AV
receiver’s
HDMI OUT
jack to your TV’s
HDMI (ARC)
jack by using an HDMI-ARC compliant cable.
In the following situations, the HDMI cable routes
Dolby Digital audio to the AV receiver, so you do not
need to connect a separate digital audio cable:
• When you have a game console connected to your
TV’s
HDMI
jack.
• When you watch a program through an antenna or
cable TV connected to the
ANT/CABLE IN
jack.

Cautions
•

with a cloth. If chemicals touch your skin, wash
immediately.
•
Make sure that batteries are disposed of
correctly. Do not burn or incinerate.
Notes
•
Do not mix batteries of different types.
•
Do not mix old and new batteries.
•
Remove batteries when the charge is depleted.
•
If the remote control is not going to be used for
an extended period of time, remove the
