8 Remote Control
The RMO Remote Control Unit is an optional control unit that is used to start and stop the tests from
a remote location, away from the actual RMO.
Very often the same test current is fed through the test object for a series of tests. To simplify this
and speed up the process, multiple measurements can be carried out with the RMO Remote Control
Unit.
Otherwise, the test current setting needs to be changed on the RMO for each new test.
8.1 Connecting the Remote Control Unit to RMO and Test Object
Turn off RMO and plug in the Remote
Control Unit to connector on the RMO
‟s
front panel.
Connect the Remote Control Unit to the
test object (R
X
) in such a way that the
measuring cables from the "Voltage
Sense" sockets are situated as close as
possible to R
X
, and in between the current
feeding cables from RMO. That way, both
the cable‟s and the clamps‟ typical contact
resistance is largely excluded from the
resistance measurement.
Note:
Never connect the Remote Control Unit to any other device but RMO.
