To set the needle thread tension:

1.

Set the main tensioner (1) via the control panel so that a even 
stitch pattern is achieved.

When the thread is cut, the main tensioner (1) is opened 
automatically.

(1) - Identical needle thread and bobbin thread tension
(2) - Bobbin thread tension higher than needle thread tension
(3) - Needle thread tension higher than bobbin thread tension
