safety storage cabinet.

Performance of work in connection with repairs, maintenance and electrical charge
in the safety storage cabinet.

Performance of work on lithium batteries in the safety storage cabinet.
n
Conversion measures and modifications to the safety storage cabinet without the
knowledge and consent of DÜPERTHAL and the irrespective use of such safety
storage cabinets.
n
Any utilisation beyond the terms of correct use.
2.4 Obligations of the operator
The operator is obliged to comply with applicable legal regulations. These include:
n
Issuing operating instructions.
n
Carrying out risk assessments.
n
Creating explosion protection documents.
n
Complying with specified maintenance and inspection work as well as recurring
checks.
n
Conducting documented safety instruction for employees involved in operating and
working with the safety storage cabinet at least once a year.
n
Completing documented assessment of chemical and thermal reactions between the
lithium batteries to be stored and the effects thereof.
n
Defining and complying with the segregated storage of hazardous substances and
hazardous goods.
n
Prohibiting access by unauthorised persons to the lithium batteries stored in the safety
storage cabinet.
n
Drawing up rules and regulations concerning smoking, handling naked flames,
working with naked flames and spark-generating work in and at the safety storage
cabinet.
Other obligations of the operator:
n
Safeguard the function of safety-relevant equipment in and at the cabinet.
n
Store hazardous substances so that a visual inspection of the bottom tray for extra-
neous substances is possible on working days.
n
Install the safety storage cabinet so that the annual maintenance activities can be car-
ried out without restriction.
n
Immobilise, collect and correctly dispose of leaked liquids in accordance with acci-
dent prevention regulations.
2.5 Demands on employees
Activities make demands on employees. These instructions for use assign activities to the
following employees:

Technical specialist employees
n
Laboratory and warehouse employees
n
DÜPERTHAL service technicians
Only people who meet the following requirements are approved as employees:
