Adjusting the throttle
cables
Important
Any adjustment of the
opening and closing throttle cables
may affect throttle body adjustments.
Before you adjust these cables,
read the previous paragraph.
The throttle twistgrip must have free
travel of
1.5 - 2 mm (measured on the
twistgrip rim) in all steering positions.
If necessary, adjust it with the
adjusters (1) and (2) located near
the steering tube on the left side of
the motorcycle.
Adjuster (1) adjusts the throttle
opening control, while adjuster (2)
adjusts the throttle closing control.
Slip the dust covers off the adjusters
and slacken the locknuts. Set both
adjusters to the same setting: turn
clockwise to increase play, anti-
clockwise to decrease play. When
finished, tighten the locknuts and
refit the dust covers.
Periodically check the condition of
the outer cables of the throttle
opening (1)and closing cables (2)
and the starter cable (3). The outer
cables should show no signs of
pinching or cracking.
Lubricate the ends of the inner
cables with the prescribed grease
periodically to ensure they run freely.
Operate the throttle to make sure
the inner cable slides smoothly
inside the outer cable. If you feel
excessive resistance or stiffness,
change the cable.
To lubricate the throttle twistgrip,
remove its cap (A), undo screws (4)
and remove the covers (5) and (6).
Lubricate the ends of the cable and
the pulley (B) with the recommended
grease.
When refitting the cover, make
sure that the cables are correctly
positioned in the pulley (B).
Fit the covers (5) and (6) in the
handlebar reference hole (C).
Tighten down the covers (5) and (6)
with screws (4) to the specified
torque (Sect. C 3).
Regolazione cavi di
comando acceleratore
Importante
Operando sul cavo di comando
acceleratore di apertura e chiusura si
può compromettere la registrazione
del corpo farfallato. Consultare il
paragrafo precedente prima di
intervenire sul registro del cavo
sopracitato.
La manopola di comando acceleratore
in tutte le posizioni di sterzata deve
avere una corsa a vuoto, misurata sulla
periferia del bordino della manopola,
di
1,5÷2,0 mm.
Se necessario, regolarla agendo sugli
appositi registri (1) e (2) situati in
corrispondenza del cannotto di sterzo
sul lato sinistro del veicolo.
Il registro (1) agisce sull’apertura del
comando acceleratore, mentre il
registro (2) sulla chiusura.
Sfilare dai registri le relative cuffie di
protezione e allentare i controdadi.
Effettuare la regolazione agendo
proporzionalmente su entrambi i
registri: ruotando in senso orario si
aumenta il gioco, in senso antiorario
lo si diminuisce. A regolazioni
ultimate serrare i controdadi e calzare
le cuffie di protezione sui registri.
Periodicamente è necessario
controllare la condizione della guaina
esterna dei cavi di comando di
apertura (1) e chiusura (2) acceleratore
e starter (3). Non devono presentare
schiacciamenti o screpolature nel
ricoprimento plastico esterno.
Per mantenere la scorrevolezza del
comando lubrificare periodicamente
l'estremità dei cavi di trasmissione
con grasso prescritto.
Verificare, agendo sul comando, il
funzionamento scorrevole del cavo
interno: se si manifestano attriti o
impuntamenti sostituirlo.
Per lubrificare il comando
acceleratore è necessario sfilare il
cappuccio di protezione (A), svitare le
viti (4) e rimuovere i coperchi (5) e (6)
del comando acceleratore.
Lubrificare l’estremità dei cavi e la
carrucola (B) con grasso prescritto.
Richiudere con molta attenzione il
comando verificando che i cavi
siano correttamente inseriti nella
carrucola (B).
Posizionare i coperchi (5) e (6) nel foro
di riferimento del semimanubrio (C).
Bloccare i coperchi (5) e (6) serrando
le viti (4) alla coppia prescritta
(Sez. C 3).
