Performing a sample taking measurement
1. Select "SAMPLE TAKING" from the menu.
2. Follow the instructions on the display.

Additional option to adjust the flow rate for a single
sample taking measurement
If necessary, it is possible to additionally adjust the set flow rate for a
single sample taking measurement.
1. Connect the opened sampling tube or system to the tube socket
(gas-inlet) of the Dräger X-act 5000 Basic.
2. Connect a flow meter to the sampling tube or system.
3. Follow the instructions on the display.
4. When the "SET OK & START" prompt occurs on the display, press
the green "OK" key to start the measurement.
5. Compare the flow rate shown on the display with the flow rate
indicated on the external flow meter. If needed, adjust the flow rate
using the "UP" and "DOWN" keys.
The effects of the adjustment last only for the duration of the current
sample taking measurement. The sample taking measurement will
need to be interrupted in order to change a discharged battery. The
flow rate set and the sampling data are saved until the battery has
been replaced and the currently sample taking measurement has been
completed.

After use
3.3.1
Switching off the Dräger X-act 5000 Basic
The instrument is automatically flushed when switched off. This
removes any reactive gas which may have been produced by the
chemical reaction of the tubes.
1. To switch off the instrument, press the "UP" and "DOWN" keys
simultaneously for 3 seconds until the numbers 3 ... 2 ... 1 are
displayed.
After this, a flush cycle will automatically start. It will take approx.
5 - 10 seconds until flushing is completed. A countdown will be
displayed.
Then the instrument will automatically switch off.
NOTICE
The instrument cannot be turned off in the following cases:
during a self-test,
during a leak test,
during a measurement,
when the password-protected menu is activated.
