Dräger points out that oxygen- and chlorine-releasing agents may
cause color change in some materials. This is not an indication
that the product is not functioning correctly.
Observe the specifications of the surface disinfectant manufactur-
ers.
Use surface disinfectants that are nationally authorized.
1
Switch the gas analyzer into standby mode and keep the water
trap installed.
2
Remove soiling immediately with a cloth soaked in disinfec-
tant.
3
Perform surface disinfection by scrubbing and wiping.
4
Remove disinfectant residues after the contact time has
elapsed.
Cleaning or replacing the fan filter mat
The fan filter mat should be cleaned once every month or replaced
after one year of usage.
1
Locate the fan at the rear of the gas analyzer.
2
Remove the fan filter mat from its holder.
3
Vacuum up any accumulation of dust on the filter mat as well
as on and inside the fan port.
4
Insert the cleaned filter mat or a new filter mat.
Maintenance
This chapter describes the maintenance measures required to
maintain the proper functioning of the medical device. Mainte-
nance measures must be performed by the personnel responsi-
ble.
Definition of maintenance concepts
Inspection
Inspections must be carried out regularly according to the follow-
ing guidelines and within the specified intervals. Technical docu-
mentation is available on request.
Safety checks
Safety checks are no substitute for preventive maintenance mea-
sures (including preventive replacement of wear parts) as identi-
fied by the manufacturer.
1
Check accompanying documents:
– Instructions for use are available
2
Verify that the gas analyzer is in good condition:
– Labels are complete and legible
– No visible damage on:
Housing
External power supply and power cable
Water trap
Water trap holder, especially o-rings
Sample line
Gas exhaust
Power LED
WARNING
Risk of electric shock or device failure
Liquid that enters into the device can cause the device to
malfunction or may damage the device and endanger the
patient.
Only disinfect the device surface and cables using the
moist scrub-wipe disinfection method and ensure that no
fluid enters the device.
WARNING
Risk of infection
Users, service personnel, and specialized service person-
nel may become infected by disease-causing germs.
Clean and disinfect device or device components before
each maintenance step and before returning for repair.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
There are conducting components under the housing
cover.
– Do not remove the housing cover.
– Maintenance measures must be performed by the per-
sonnel responsible.
For repairs and complex maintenance tasks, Dräger recom-
mends DrägerService.

WARNING
Risk of medical device failure
If safety checks are not performed regularly, the proper
operation of the medical device can be compromised.
Perform safety checks at the indicated intervals.
NOTE
Use a new and dry water trap and sample line to check the accu-
racy of the gas measurement appropriately.
NOTE
The gas analyzer needs to be in operation mode for more than
10 min before checking the accuracy of the gas measurement.
