Reprocessing methods
Disinfectants
Use disinfectants that are nationally approved and
are suitable for the particular reprocessing
procedure.
The material compatibility of various disinfectants
has been tested with Dräger accessories to be
reprocessed.
The following disinfectants showed good material
compatibility at the time of the test:
Surface disinfectants (for device surfaces)
– Dismozon
pur/plus from BODE Chemie GmbH
& Co. KG, Germany with a contact time of
15 minutes at a concentration of 1.6 %.
WARNING
Danger of personal injury and/or equipment
damage
Fluids that get into the device or into terminals
can impair the function of the device and
endanger the patient!
Only clean parts with a damp cloth and
disinfect the surface when the light is not in
use.
Do not allow any fluids to get in.
WARNING
Risk of fire
Do not use any flammable cleaning agents in
the vicinity of the terminal units or power
sockets.
CAUTION
The device partly consists of materials not
resistant to certain substances used in surface
disinfectants.
Please follow the recommendations provided in
this chapter.
Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to the device.
WARNING
Risk due to faulty accessories
Even reusable accessories have a limited service
life, e.g., disinfectant residues can corrode the
material during autoclaving. External signs of
wear can occur, e.g., cracks, deformations,
discolorations, or peeling.
If there are external signs of wear, exchange
affected accessories.
NOTE
The surface disinfectant Terralin
®
(manufacturer:
Schülke & Mayr GmbH, Germany) was tested by
Dräger. The test results showed material
incompatibility.
Terralin may therefore not be used to disinfect the
supply unit.
