The  User  Interface  board  controls  and  manages
the  input  and  output  functions,  i.  e.  button
detection,  output  of  messages,  triggering  of  the
LCD,  and  output  of  acoustic  alarms.

The  specific  commands  for  the  output  of  mes-
sages  are  transmitted  from  the  MCM  board  to
the  User  Interface  board.

In  addition,  the  backup  memory  is  provided  on
the  User  Interface  board,  which  is,  however,
directly  controlled  by  the  MCM.

Backup  file  on  the  User  Interface  board
In  the  programming  mode,  a  backup  of  the
current  configuration  including  counters  of  the
MCM  can  be  carried  out  on  the  User  Interface
board,  which  we  recommend  after  substantial
modifications  of  the  configuration.

As  the  dispenser  software  carries  out  a  backup
on  the  user  interface  board  in  the  background
during  operation  every  hour,  this  backup  method
is  not  suitable  to  permanently  store  a  special
configuration.  This  must  be  done  via  an  external
medium  as,  for  instance,  a  PC.
