Question - FW Update U300

This node is merely used as a question for the subsequent node.

7.5

Firmware update

A firmware update can only be performed using the programmer 1460. This means an up-
grade from V3 to E300 (V4) is required before the update is carried out.

Requirements

•

The firmware has been transferred from the Kaba EAC Service Tool to programmer 1460
(the LEGIC OS is integrated into the firmware).

•

The user is familiar with how to use the programmer and the Kaba EAC Service Tool.

•

Kaba EAC Service Tool ≥ V 2.6.1 is installed.

•

FTDI driver (via operating system) for Kaba programmer 1460 is installed (FTDI CDM sup-
ports D2XX and VCP functionality) http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm.

•

Microsoft .Net Framework 4 Client profiles are installed http://www.microsoft.com/net/

Procedure

NOTICE

During the firmware update, the power supply and the connection to the programmer must
not be interrupted.

1.

Back up the configuration data for the Remote reader 91 15 U300 on programmer 1364.

2.

Disconnect the device from the power supply. (Switching DIP switches 5 and 6 has no ef-
fect when the device is connected to the power supply.)

ð

The access point is blocked during the firmware update.

3.

Turn DIP switches 5 and 6 to ‘ON’.

4.

Connect the device to the power supply.

ð

Remote reader: the IN1-LED flashes green.

ð

Registration unit: flashes green and red after two short acoustic signals.

5.

Connect programmer 1460 to the remote reader using the programming cable.

6.

Use programmer 1460 to upgrade to V4 (and, if necessary, to perform a LEGIC OS up-
date).

7.

Disconnect the device from the power supply.

8. Turn DIP switches 5 and 6 to ‘OFF’.

9.

Connect the device to the power supply.

ð

Remote reader: The green light of the State LED remains continuously illuminated or
flashes.

ð

Registration unit: The visual display is illuminated green or switched off.

10. Transfer the current firmware for standalone elolegic V3 to the Remote reader 91 15 U300

using programmer 1460.

11. Disconnect programmer 1460 from the device.

12. Transfer the configuration data to the Remote reader using programmer 1364.

ð

The access point is ready for bookings.

Updating configuration with the programmer 1364

1.

Using the programming cable, connect the Programmer 1364 to the Remote reader.
