Issuing read/write authorisation (launch)
(LEGIC only)
Read/write authorisation is required in the following cases:
•
If the Remote reader is to write to a write-protected segment on a medium.
Examples:
–
If write-protected CardLink segments are to be validated for CardLink applications
–
For applying the device status (actuator status)
•
If the Remote reader is intended to read a read-protected segment of a medium
In this chapter, the term ‘write authorisation’ shall be used to refer to both ‘write authorisa-
tion’ and ‘read authorisation’.
Write authorisation with a LEGIC prime SAM 63 card is only valid for LEGIC prime.
The signal is output by the registration unit at which the card is presented.
Requirement
•
A LEGIC prime SAM 63 card with the relevant segment range is required for the write au-
thorisation.
•
The ISO standard of the SAM 63 card must match the parametrised ISO standard.
•
The Remote reader is in normal operation and is awaiting an RFID input.
Procedure
1.
Present a master card to the registration unit.
2.
Present the SAM 63 card to the connected registration unit and hold it there for approx.
15 seconds.
ð
The green light on the Registration unit registration unit will illuminate during this pro-
cedure.
ð
Signal after successful write authorisation: 3x beep
If the Remote reader has already been issued with the write authorisation using the
same SAM 63 card, this will be indicated immediately by way of three beeps.
