Operating Instructions

DIR 2T Infrared Hand Transmitter

6. General Information

The DIR 2T infrared hand transmitter is a component of the Dupline and SI systems.
With this device you can trigger receiver models DIR 2 (Dupline) and SIFB 2 (SI sys-
tem). 8 switching or dimming signals can be directly operated with the DIR 2T. As it of-
fers the option of 8 switching channel groups ('A' to 'H'), the DIR 2T is capable of
operating up to 64 such signals. For this purpose a corresponding number of DIR 2, or
SIFB 2, receivers with different switching group settings need to be installed. Switching
between the channel groups is via the buttons '

 A-H

' located in the lower operating

field.
The DIR 2T requires 2 round battery cells 'AA', Type LR6, which are inserted in the bat-
tery compartment at the back. The energy-saving mode, which the DIR 2T will automat-
ically adopt three seconds after the last operation, substantially increases the life span
of the batteries. A reduction in the brightness of the LEDs and of the transmission range
indicates that the power of the batteries is depleted and that they need to be changed.

7. Operation

7.1. Selection the switching group

To select the switching group of the DIR 2 / SIFB 2 receiver press button '

 A-H

':

pressing on the left side (

) will select the previous group, pressing on the right (

) the

next highest group. Upon first operating one of these buttons the group currently select-
ed will be displayed by the row of LEDs in the upper operating field. Utilize this function
in order to prevent the wrong group's being accidentally switched.

7.2. Switching and dimming

With buttons '1' to '8' those electrical loads, such as e.g. lamps and shutters, in the
group previously selected can be directly switched or dimmed. While transmission is in
progress the LED of the selected group will flash. The function of each individual button
depends upon the installation of the Dupline or SI system and the relevant IR receiver.
In order to switch or dim it is important that the transmitter is pointed in the direction of
the receiver and that no reflecting object is positioned in the transmission path.

7.3. Battery change

To change the batteries slide down the cover of the battery compartment at the back of
the transmitter, remove the spent batteries and insert the new batteries as shown in the
illustration on page 6.
