i-motion
What is an i-motion?
An i-motion is a file containing video, voice and music data downloaded from an i-motion site to your FOMA terminal.
You can set an i
- motion as a ring tone (Chaku-motion).

i-motion types
i-motions can be broadly divided into two types. The type of i-motion downloaded depends on the site and the file
type.
■
Normal type
The FOMA terminal will hold normal i-motions up to 500 KB in size in either of the formats shown below. Some standard-
type i-motions cannot be saved.

Streaming type
This type cannot be saved on the FOMA terminal. The FOMA terminal can play i-motions of up to 2 MB in size. Because the
data is discarded as soon as a streaming i-motion ends, it has to be downloaded again each time it is played.
Playback that happens while a streaming i-motion is downloading is called “streaming playback”.

When data downloading is completed, the “Data acquisition display” appears.
■ To cancel downloading

■ Normal-type i - motions
Use the “Automatic replay” setting in “i-motion setting” (P. 336) to specify whether normal i-motions are automatically
played during downloading. Note that some i-motions may not play until they have finished downloading.
■ Streaming-type i - motions
You cannot download streaming i-motions if “Normal type” is selected in “i-motion type”.
When a message saying “Invalid content. Change i-motion type for replay” appears:
• “Normal type” is selected in the “i-motion type setting” (P. 337) in “i-motion setting”. Press
d
to return to the site
display, select “i-motion type” from the Function menu, change the setting to “Norm • Streaming type” and then
download the i-motion again.
When the “Replay streaming?” message appears:
• Select “YES” to begin playback, or select “NO” to return to the site display.
• To cancel playback in progress after you have selected “YES”, press
o
(Quit).
