Setting the Display and Keypad Lighting
Default settings Lighting: ON (lit) + Power saving (5-minute delay) Charging: Standard
Area: LCD+Keys Brightness: Level 2
Use this procedure to specify the lighting settings for the display, keypad and backlight.

Choose from the following options:
Select the normal lighting settings for the backlight.
When “OFF” is selected, the icon appears on the stand-by display.

Set the Power Saving mode options.

Enter a delay time (02-20 minutes).
Once the specified delay has elapsed, the stand-by display and indicator
display turn off (Power Saving mode).
Set the delay before the FOMA terminal switches to Power Saving
mode. Enter the time as a 2-digit number. To use the time already
displayed, just press
d
.

OFF Disables Power Saving mode.

You can also turn the backlight on or off by holding down

for 1 second or longer.

When “Lighting” is set to “ON”, the backlight turns on when a call is received and lights for roughly 15 seconds when you turn the FOMA terminal on,
press one of the FOMA terminal keys, and fold or unfold the FOMA terminal. The backlight also stays on while you are using the camera or playing
a movie or i-motion. If you select “OFF”, the backlight does not turn on. However, the backlight turns on during movie shooting regardless of the
“Lighting” setting.

Even if the “Charging” setting is set to “ALL time ON”, when the charge light turns off after charging is completed, the phone operates using the
“Lighting” settings.

Even if the “Charging” setting is set to “ALL time ON” during charging, if there is no operations performed for about is seconds, the brightness of the
display backlight is set to “Level 1” to increase charging efficiency.
●
When the body of a mail or a Message Request/Free is displayed, the time for which the backlight stays on varies depending on the length of the
message.

If the FOMA terminal switches to Power Saving mode while it is unfolded,

flash for roughly 5 seconds. Press any of the FOMA
terminal’s keys to cancel Power Saving mode.

If you select “Display clock only” in “Indicator display” and then fold the FOMA terminal, the FOMA terminal does not switch to Power Saving mode
when the specified delay has elapsed.
