You can read templates while composing new i-mode Mail.

Templates cannot be read while Keypad Dial Lock is set.

When you read a template on the mail composition screen after entering any text, a confirmation
screen is displayed asking whether to overwrite the mail contents. When
Read body only is
selected, only the message text is overwritten with the template. When Read all is selected, the
address, subject, attachment, and message text are all overwritten. Press
c
to stop reading.
･
Multiple templates cannot be read for one mail.
