Phonebook
Copying the phonebook
You copy phonebook entries from FOMA terminal to the UIM and from the UIM to FOMA
terminal. In addition, one entry of the FOMA terminal phonebook can be copied or all entries of
the FOMA terminal phonebook can be backed up to the miniSD memory card.

If the entries of the group of the same group name to copy already registered in the target phonebook
data to be copied, the data is copied to that group.

You can only copy the following items.
■ The items copied from the FOMA terminal phonebook to UIM phonebook

Note that if the number of characters exceeds the maximum limit that can be saved in the UIM, the
exceeding part is omitted.

Name A name can be copied up to 10 two-byte or 21 one-byte characters. However, up to 10
characters can be registered when both one- and two-byte characters or one-byte
katakana are used.
Reading Copy reading(up to 25 one-byte or 12 two-byte characters). The UIM replaces one-byte
katakana characters with two-byte katakana characters.
Phone number Copies entry’s first registered phone number (up to 26 digits. You can enter up to 20
digits depending on the types of the UIM (FOMA card).

Mail address Copy entry’s first registered mail address (up to 50 one-byte characters). In the UIM, all
icons are replaced with .
Name Copied to Name.
Reading Copied to Reading.
Two-byte katakana are replaced with one-byte katakana on FOMA terminal.
Phone number Copied to Phone number. The icon is set with .
Mail address Copied to Mail address. For the icon, is set.
