Before Using the Handset

INFORMATION
･
Some i- D ppli remains operating even when FOMA terminal
is folded, consuming power. In that case, the call,
communication or stand-by time may be reduced.
･
During talking or communications, charging may not finish.
Charging may not complete if you start battery charging
while playing movie/i-motion or running i-
D
ppli. In such a
case, it is recommended to end the operation, and then
charge the battery.
･
The charging may not be completed depending on the
settings of Display light or charging method, such as
charging the battery with the FOMA terminal open when
Normal use is set to "Always" in Display light time of
Display light. In such a case, it is recommended to charge
the battery with the FOMA terminal folded.

It is normal for FOMA terminal, battery pack, desktop
holder and AC adapter, DC adapter to become warm while
charging. If you use the videophone or if you transmit/
receive packets or 64K data while charging the battery, the
charging may not finish normally because of temperature
rise in FOMA terminal. In that case, wait until the
temperature falls down and try again.
◆ Charging
When using optional FOMA AC Adapter, FOMA DC
Adapter, Desktop Holder, read the related operation
manuals in advance.

The battery pack cannot be charged without an adapter.
When charging the battery pack, attach it to FOMA
terminal.
■ Using desktop holder and AC adapter for charging
a
Insert the AC adapter connector to the desktop holder,
with the arrow on the connector facing upward.

Unfold the AC adapter power plug and insert it into a
100V AC outlet.

Fold the FOMA terminal and insert to the desktop
holder with the light facing this side as shown in the
figure.

After charging is over, remove the FOMA terminal
holding the desktop holder.
■ Charging with AC adapter or DC adapter

connector horizontally with the arrow facing upward
and insert it to terminal. (

Unfold the AC adapter power plug and insert it into a
100V AC outlet.
Insert the DC adapter cigarette lighter plug into the
vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.

After charging has completed, disconnect the AC
adapter from the outlet or the cigarette lighter plug
from the cigarette lighter socket, and press the release
buttons on both sides of the connector and remove the
connector horizontally from FOMA terminal.
