Cable Verification and Replacement
To verify that the Contact Measurement cables are in proper working
condition, run a Continuity Test. It is useful to run the Continuity test with
only the suspect cable connected.
TDR9000 interconnection cables are listed in Table B.5. If a system
failure occurs, and if the failure is traced to a particular cable, ensure that
the cable is properly seated and connected, before replacing the cable.
To verify cables:
1. Disconnect all connections to the circuit breaker.
2. Disconnect all but the suspect cable from the TDR9000 Physical
Front Panel.
The connector on the Virtual Front panel for the cable being tested
should be green, indicating the channel is ready.
3. Clip the circuit breaker contact clamps together.
4. Run the Continuity test. Refer to ”Running the Continuity Test”
on page 4-71.
5. Repeat step 1 through 4 for all cables until the test fails.

OTE
If no particular cable is suspect, running the Continuity Test with all
cables connected will still produce useful results, since all cables are
independent. For this to work, only cable clamps from the same cable
should contact each other.
OCB and EHV cables cannot be connected at the same time.
