FACTS ABOUT DLS RC1 TWEETER
THE KIT CONTAINS:

2 pcs 1,25" (3cm) tweeters

2 pcs 12 dB high-pass cable filters with selectable level

Mounting cups for surface mounting
MOUNTING:
RC1 can be surface mounted with the included cups or recessed
in a door-side or similar.
Direct the left front tweeter towards the passenger seat, and the
right front tweeter towards the drivers seat in the car and you
obtain the best sound image.
REMOVAL OF THE GRILLE:
Before installation you must remove the grille from the speaker by
bending carefully with a small screwdriver in the gap between the
speaker and the grille. Two different grille types are included in the
kit.
FLUSH MOUNTING:
This requires a 45 mm dia. hole. Removed the grille, then fasten
the tweeter element with two small screws with the clips on the
rear of the door. Then put the grille back on it´s place.
Together with the two cups in the kit you can surface mount the
RC1. Two of the holes in the cup are used for attaching the cup
with screws, or use double-adhesive tape. Use the third hole for
the cable.

Either you use the cable filter coming with the kit or the filter
boxes in the REFERENCE series, always fasten them properly
so they don´t move around in the door when you drive. And don´t
forget to fasten all the cables as well.

FILTER CONNECTION
Depending on the type of installation the RC 1 can be used with
different filters, look at the examples below.
CONNECTION WITH THE CABLE FILTER:
To be used for installation with the R4, R5, R6 and R8 when the
tweeter is installed away from the bass/mid speaker.
THE TWEETER INSTALLED AWAY FROM THE BASS:

FILTERBOX:
To be used with the R4, R5, R6 and R8 when the tweeter is
installed close to the bass/mid element.

When connecting RC1 with the Uc5, UC6, U4, U5, U6, U35 and
U36 always use the filters in the ULTIMATE-series packing.

Speaker connection and tweeter level
select:
The filters coming with this tweeter should be connected in
series with respective speaker element as on the drawing.
Select tweeter level by connecting the red cable to either the
red or yellow cable coming out from the filter box. If the tweeter
is directed towards the listener, low level is to be prefered.
Otherwise make your own tests for best result.
Sometimes the midrange can be improved by phase reversing
the tweeter. Try it and make your own judgement.
NOTE! The filters must be used. If the tweeters are
connected without filters they may be damaged and
the sound reproduction will be bad.
