1. CHECK THE POWER, DATA AND CABLE SIGNALS BEFORE INSTALLATION OF THE DTK-DP4P TO VERIFY
NO SIGNAL DISTORTION.
2. POWER DOWN OR DISCONNECT THE CIRCUITS THIS DEVICE WILL CONNECT TO BEFORE
BEGINNING INSTALLATION.
3. SECURELY MOUNT THIS UNIT BETWEEN THE FIELD WIRING AND THE EQUIPMENT TO BE PROTECTED.
FOR MOUNTING, USE DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE OR TWO #8 SCREWS (PROVIDED).
4. NOTE: ALLOW THE SURGE PROTECTOR REACTION TIME BY PROVIDING 3-6 WIRE FEET OF CONDUCTOR
LENGTH BETWEEN THE DTK- UNIT AND THE EQUIPMENT TO BE PROTECTED.
5. NOTE: ALLOW FOR THE WIRE DISTANCE FROM THE SURGE PROTECTOR TO PROTECTED EQUIPMENT
TO BE GREATER THAN THE WIRE DISTANCE FROM THE SURGE PROTECTOR TO GROUND.
6. FOR GROUND CONNECTION: CONNECT A MINIMUM # 14 AWG WIRE FROM THE GROUND CONNECTOR
TO THE COMMON EARTH GROUND WITH 25 OHMS OR LESS (5 OHMS IS PREFERRED). USE ONE COMMON
GROUND PER SYSTEM TO ELIMINATE THE POSSIBILITY OF A DIFFERENCE IN GROUND POTENTIALS.
7. FOR VIDEO PROTECTION: CONNECT THE UNPROTECTED VIDEO CABLE INPUT FROM THE FIELD TO
THE BNC IN. CONNECT ONE END OF A SECOND VIDEO CABLE FROM THE BNC OUT THEN CONNECT
THE OTHER END OF THIS CABLE TO THE EQUIPMENT TO BE PROTECTED.
8. FOR DATA PROTECTION: CONNECT THE SUPPLY WIRE FROM THE FIELD TO THE UNPROTECTED
5V DATA TERMINALS MARKED IN . THE SUPPLY WIRE FROM THE PROTECTED 5V DATA TERMINALS
MARKED OUT CONNECTS TO THE EQUIPMENT TO BE PROTECTED.
9. FOR 24VAC POWER PROTECTION: CONNECT THE SUPPLY WIRE FOR THE 24VAC POWER SUPPLY TO
THE UNPROTECTED 24V PWR TERMINALS MARKED IN.
THE SUPPLY WIRE FROM THE PROTECTED TERMINALS MARKED OUT CONNECTS TO THE EQUIPMENT
TO BE PROTECTED.
10. AFTER ALL CONNECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE AND NO HAZARDS EXIST, RESTORE POWER.
11. CHECK THE POWER, DATA AND CABLE SIGNALS AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE DTK-DP4P TO INSURE
PROPER INSTALL AND NO SIGNAL DISTORTION.
