Positioning of the Harness
(Rear-facing or Forward-facing)
WARNING:
• Serious injury or death can result if child is not
properly secured in car seat. Confi rm harness is snug
before each use and after making any car seat
adjustments.
A snug restraint strap should not allow
any slack. It lies in a relatively straight line without
sagging. It does not press on the child’s fl esh or push
the child’s body into an unnatural position.
Confi rm proper car seat installation.
To loosen harness: lift silver
harness adjuster and pull shoulder
straps forward.
Unfasten chest clip and harness
buckle, and move harness straps
to the sides.
Properly position child in car seat:
sitting upright and all the way
back in the car seat.
Position harness straps around
child and fasten buckle with
circle buckle pad between
buckle and child.
Confi rm buckle is properly
fastened by gently tugging.
Gently pull harness straps
upward to snugly fi t lap
portion of harness which
should fi t low on child’s
body, across the hips.
Slowly pull harness
adjuster strap downward
(forward-facing) or straight
up (rear-facing), using a
pull-tug, pull-tug motion,
to tighten harness for a
comfortable and snug fi t
around child.
