Installing the New Seals
1. Push the piston through the piston-
side seal insertion tool
(P/N 067394).
2. Wet a new seal (P/N 066165) with
IPA (isopropyl alcohol) for
lubrication.
3. Note that one side of the seal is flat,
while the other side contains an O-
ring. Orient the O-ring side of the
seal so that it faces away from the
tool, and then slide the seal onto the
piston.
4. Place the valve body, with the piston
side (small opening) facing up, on
the workbench.
5. Rest your thumbs on the back of the
tool and press down firmly (with
equal pressure) on the left and right
sides of the tool. You should hear a
snap as the new seal is seated in the
valve body. Remove the piston and
the tool from the valve body.
NOTE:
If there is no audible snap,
check the seal for damage. An
undamaged seal will lie completely
flat in the valve body, with no visible edges. If the seal is damaged,
remove it from the valve body. Contact Dionex to order a replacement
seal.
Do not use a sharp object inside the valve body. Any scratches on the
valve body will prevent a proper seal and allow leakage.
