Steering Tool Data Points
Steering tool data points appearing in the data points table can be edited, inserted, removed, or hidden
using the right-click function. A data point that is edited will force surrounding data to be recalculated. A
data point that is inserted will appear in the data table and on the graph with default values calculated
according to surrounding data. A data point that is removed will remove the data from the drill path
calculation and graph. A data point that is hidden will remove the data point from the graph but the
information contained in the data point will continue to be used for drill path calculations.
Editing Steering Tool Data Points
To edit the pitch, heading, and rod length information recorded at a data point:
1. Open the Edit Steering Tool Data Point dialog box by double-clicking on the data point to be
edited in the data point table or on the graph or right-clicking on the data point in the table and
selecting Edit.

2. Modify the data as required.
3. Click on OK to save changes or Cancel to close without saving.
Inserting Steering Tool Data Points
To insert a steering tool data point:
1. Right-click on the data point prior to where the new data point is to be inserted.
2. Select Insert. A new data point (Rod ID) will display in the data table and on the chart with default
calculated values.
The inserted data point will be denoted with an “I” in the table to indicate it is
inserted rather than recorded.
3. Edit the data values, if necessary.
